About Patricia — The Heart Behind PDJ Photography

Hi, I’m Patricia — the artist, mom, memory-keeper, and storyteller behind PDJ Photography.

For more than a decade, I’ve had the honor of photographing some of life’s most tender and transformative moments — from the glow of pregnancy to the soft, quiet magic of a newborn’s first days. I now serve families throughout Spring, The Woodlands, Cypress, Tomball, Humble, and the greater North Houston area with intentional, heirloom-driven photography.

But this is more than a career — it’s personal.

Photography became deeply meaningful to me long before I picked up a camera professionally. When my daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer, time became so fragile and so precious — and the photos we took became more than pictures. They became lifelines, reminders of love, strength, courage, and moments I never wanted to forget.

That experience reshaped how I see family, motherhood, and the value of preserving real life — not just beautiful moments, but important ones.

Being a mom, is an experience I don’t take for granted because I know how quickly life can change. Losing my daughter, who was only 18, makes me value each familial relationship with more than just words but with memories. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend that has suffered significant loss but I choose to celebrate life because no matter short or long it is, it’s precious.
